Induction kit vs std turbo airfilter lag

Before I go back to standard, is there a noticeable difference in lag between standard airfilter and a cone type induction kit?

I am quite happy with the performance at the moment with cone airfilter, boost enhancer and Bailey dump valve fitted to 220 turbo. Wanted to go back to a std airfilter mainly from an aesthetic point of view and feel a cooler air intake will help.

What are peoples views?

I have a K&N which was on the car when I bought it. I asked but Jeremy had bought the car this way and didnt have an airbox to pass on.

Id move back to the original filter in a flash.
 
No difference at all in my experience. You can get performance K&N filters for the standard airbox which will free the flow up a bit while maintaining the original look.
 
I have a K&N panel filter in mine. Seems like a good enough solution and a tad more free flowing than than the papery standard item and also lasts a lifetime. I got mine for about £11 on ebay minus it's box.

If you can find a supply of none cracked standard airbox for a good price, let me know!
 
Yeah - they seem like hen's teeth. £131.68 + VAT after discount from OPC. Then you still need some mounting brackets etc.

I bought one - took it back as I could not get it to fit, then found a 2nd hand one on here in OKish condition.
