Indoor Car Cover

Help! Can anyone recommend a good quality indoor breathable cover for my 3.2? I've had samples sent of Covercraft items but they seem rather thin. I need it to be tailored preferably, dust proof as the car is stored in a workshop and ideally costing no more than £150. Any experiences or preferences anyone?

Try www.classicadditions.co.uk I have an outdoor breathable made by them which is top quality and I know they do indoor. I will also look up the invoice I have on file for an indoor cover which came with my car. It is top quality and heavier duty than others we have for the good ladies 944. But it is tailored to perfection with fitment like a glove over the wing mirrors and spoiler. It does have an embroidered Porsche Badge over the bonnet about 2ft by 1ft and if I remember the bill was over £200 but without the badge probably would not be far off your budget !!!. Will let you know the supplier tomorrow

I have one of their covers, indoor which is very thin but has a very fine backing which stops dust getting through. It's vital to check the backing to ensure dust does not penetrate. I must admit when I got mine it felt very flimsy and expensive for the weight! But three years on it still does a great job, unlike the BMW one on my M3 on the other side of the garage which is twice as heavy but lets all the dust in!

Nigel, would that be their 'Dakar' cover in 70 Denier Nylon? The sample I have does seem very light but also very smooth and silky so shouldn't damage paint.

I would say that if dust is already on the car from use and you put any cover on it , that action alone will cause minor surface scratching. We live right on the sea where sand is a major problem getting everywhere on the wind. I always hose the car first before washing so sponges dont pick up dust/sand and scratch it. Then I put the car away immediately under the cover. The more tailored fit you buy (more money!) the more protection you get, this is probably more important than the actual fabric although a close weave like sateen will prevent penetration of dust from the outside.

A garage....I'll get me coat [:D]

I have soft blue Classic Additions cover, I think it is from them, bought it year ago at Ragely Hall. It works nicely, is not a "fitted" one so is quite loose, but does what you need it too. Never caused any damage as far as I can tell.

The only issue I had was years ago with my cocky old garage, at the end of the winter there were blemishes on the windows/paint where the cover had touched, I assume it was slightly damp, although the discs never rusted. Never had a problem since the garage was rebuilt. It really is just a dust cover these days.

 
I use my old 997 Porsche car cover, good quality and fits perfect, it was also just sitting there waiting to go on Ebay, couldn't believe how well it fits. I also use a classic additions soft indoor cover on another car, which again is good quality and sensible money.
 
I can recommend the Richbrook ones. Very soft and fit like a glove for £109. I have a discount code for 20% off if you need it, via Audi Club.

I bought an indoor cover recently from Carnoisseur for my 3.2 Carrera Sport.
It fits very well and looks well made.
