I love her lots ....250,000 miles with me at the wheel but sometimes she does try my patience.

Over the years she has always had a drip from where the hood meets the windscreem post but of late this has moved from an occasional drip to a veritable torrent. As she is driven every day I would really like to fix this problem and arrive at meetings dry and not looking as though the last corner was too exciting!!

Have any of you experienced this problem? What did you do to fix it? (apart from wearing plastic trousers).

Here is a picture of the drip. The black area on the right is the windscreen pillar.

Thanks for your help

William

The rubber seals shrink over time. I had this problem on another car and cured it by cutting sections of bicycle inner tube to shape and sticking on the ends to fill in any gaps.

I've known of people sealing these type of leaks by applying black silicone sealant to the seal on the windscreen edge. Then putting stiff polythene on top of the sealant. Then closing the roof onto the sealant. Once the sealant has gone off, retract the roof and either trim the poly or remove it if possible. You get a custom made shaped seal just right to make up any gap.
