We will be doing a Fish and Chip run Recce on Thursday, going round York to the west and over the newly opened Aldwark Toll bridge.
This is a planning run and we aim to finish in Helmsley and have a late lunch there.
Start will be at The Maltings Tea Rooms LS25 5BX. We will be there at 10:00 and aim to be away between 10:30 and 11:00.
We will have a few route handouts.

Hi Chris and Delia, Viv and I would like to join you if that’s OK. We’ll aim to be at the Tea Rooms at 10 or shortly after. See you on Thursday!

Hi Chris, I will come and join you too. It will be nice to meet up and have a run out.

It would be nice to have a drive out, we will have to come in the "Imposter" as I am too tight to tax the Boxster this month.

A reminder that we will each need 40p in change to cross the Aldwark Bridge.
Came over that in the daily on Sunday night, didn’t like the look of the speed bumps at either end, fine in an Octavia but didn’t look very Porsche friendly (but not a lot is in a GT4 😂)

The speed bumps used to be fine as long as you went over them slowly and carefully.

Many thanks to all that attended today. A good day out and some really good food in Helmsley.

We really enjoyed it, super sociable day, thanks to everyone especially Chris and Delia for organising. Extra bonus on the way home was that Google Maps brought us down our favourite Mortimer Road to Ladybower, which wasn’t in our plan. Great day.

Thank you Chris and Delia for organising, a very nice day out with excellent company (and great food too). Thanks to everyone.
And confirm that the speed humps on the Aldwark toll bridge are no worse than they were before, so fine for GT4s if you go slowly.
The bridge is however a lot less clanky than it used to be so not quite as amusing.
