IMPORTANT- THE GREAT BRITISH CAR JOURNEY EVENT SUNDAY 22nd 2023

Dear R7 friends,

This morning I took a look at the road closures and conditions for not only the venue but the route. We have at least 5 points on route where the road is closed and 2 of these adjacent to the venue.

The strines actually are open!

I also called the venue and there is only one back road open. The flood waters are at +4.1 M and they are sat at the premises extremely worried. The two main roads and junction is closed close by and Matlock A6 is also closed.

THEREFORE WITH A HEAVY HEART I HAVE TO CANCEL THIS EVENT

We already agreed to re-schedule this with the venue and when I have the dates I will inform all and keep all the info/prep etc.

STAY SAFE EVERYONE AND DRY.

Sad news, but probably for the best, better safe than sorry. Look forward to the re organised event.

Hopefully one for the summer when we may have less risky weather, look forward to it then.

Thank you for the update.
Bob has been stuck in London for 2 days, no trains running to Hull because of the weather & King’s Cross is now closed!
We will look forward to the trip next time!
