I have become a U-Boat Commander

After months searching for a 968 and being unable to find something that fitted my criteria I shifted my search slightly to include 928s and finally found a car that fitted the bill perfectly. A good, clean, well looked after 1980 S1 in Guards Red with a very unusual interior which was purchased from a fellow member.

I have met and spoken to many members on this journey and would like to thank them all for their patience, knowledge and support and special thanks to Matt, Brian and Adrian who as Club officials give up their time freely to help people like me. I am very grateful.

As for the car, it's not perfect and I bought it knowing that but also wanted to have something I could enjoy fixing with my limited capabilities and enjoy using whilst doing so and on that point it fits my criteria perfectly. I've already done a couple of minor jobs and Kevin if you're watching, the screen washers are now partly working with some parts on their way to finish the job.

I also know the car has been in the possession of a few other members in the past so hope you'll be happy that it's journey is continuing in the hands of another enthusiast and would love to hear any stories you might have about your ownership. Other than that I hope to meet a few of the other 928 owners I've spoken to on the phone or via email in the future and look forward enjoying the car as much as possible which is after all why I bought it :)

I've had 2 x S4s. Bought them both needing fettling, spent a shed load on them, made them both superb and then, like an idiot, decided I didn't use them enough and sold them. Great cars, foibles and all. Enjoy.😊

Cheers Alan.

I'm not planning on spending a fortune on it but we all know about the best laid plans of mice and men and of course it's a 928 :)

The good news is my parts turned up this morning so I've been out working on it and now have a properly working wash wipe system.
