How to get more noise??

I just purchaed a 2000 year 911 turbo. I am really happy with it but wondered if anyone could advise me on how to get an even better engine/exhaust note from the car. Is there any exhaust/air filter upgrade that anyone can suggest?

had a look on the euoropipes website, which stage did you go for and what was the cost ? Does anyone know the sound difference between the Europipes and the Tubi exhausts, (strangly I couldn't get the tubi video to play from their website for the TT).
I'm after an agressive sound on start up, tick-over and hard acceleration but back to standard noise levels at cruise. I've sampled a techart car which I found to be the perfect sound, but just too intrusive whilst cruising. Any ideas ?

I have lived with mine for a couple of months now and I like it even more. Sounded great at Brands at the weekend.

ORIGINAL: TTX50

Mines only been on for 5 days but the note has changed already as the ECU had adapted?

or as it's got carbon'd up? - or a bit of both.

ECU's do adapt though don't they - it's great. my 993tt hesitated in traffic for about 10 miles after cargraphic mufflers fitted, then just suddenly stopped.

Hi all

what do you guys think gives the best sound for a 993 TT ? I have been told Carnewal or Fabspeed - but i'd be interested to hear nmore of what folks have found

i love my car, but it is just too quiet!!

I recommand Cargraphics Tim, high quality, save a little bit of weight and lovely sound at idle and accelerating. plus a little less back pressure.

Welcome to come and listen to mine, I'm in Leeds.

Kenny

thanks for the advice. I live way down in Surrey, otherwise i would take up your offer for a listen! Also, did you just change the mufflers?

By the way, your TT looks very cool in white,

all the best

I purchased a pair of Fabspeed muffler bypasses of ebay for £116 and I can certainly hear my engine now, they are meant to free the engine up as less restricting and save about 40lbs in weight.
Something worth trying if you do not want to much extra noise is the RSR mufflers via Carnewal as there is a lot of happy customers.
Before you upgrade get a friend to drive the car away from you and past you at full bore you will be surprised how noisy it already is !!
The car is occasionally driven down to Bracknell if your not in any hurry for a listen, I will also try and post a very basic PDA recording I have if I can work out how!

Hi Gordon

Thanks very much for your reply. All the good folks on the 911uk forum say Carnewal are good news - but listening to the recording of a modified system on the Fabspeed website made me wonder what else was out there!

My normal drive has been an E46 M3 which it think sounds wonderful under acceleration and is deafening when you do this in a tunnel with the windows down. By comparison the Porker is very soft and gently spoken. Another freind who has a Targa did warn me the TT's were not know for their voice...

A pda file would be brilliant if you can figure out how to do it!

all the best
