How to fix a bumper scuff cheaply

Hi

I had a slight accident at less than 5 miles an hour that resulted in a white scuff on my rear black bumper on the right hand side.

I called Steer Prestige who are the official body shop for Porsche and they quoted £2000 to fix. So I went to Chips Away and they quoted £1250 with the following observations:

“ There are a few minor scratches around the main area and a very tiny dent in there too which we will fix”

Still, I cannot believe it will cost this much to fix this damage. I once had the rear bumper completely replaced because something or someone managed to rip a tear in it which I found unbelievable and that cost me £2500 two years ago, so I am aghast at the quote I’m receiving now.

Does anyone know how I can get this fixed professionally and cheaply? Or even if there’s something I can do as a home remedy using products I could buy?

Any recommendations greatly received.

Thank you in advance

I think you are down to the 'primer' there. Black is hard work too!
Chips Away (I've used them 2 x in the past) will remove the bumper, prep/repair and repaint/install but also polish out the car to blend the new finish to the old.
If this is not done you will readily see the bumper is fresh, the car not so.
Lots of labour in that sentence. Is the quote with the car taken to them or a driveway repair? Job takes longer on the driveway.

I think I would chase a few more 'chips-away' type people first, but expect a high quote I think from anyone.

It will not be a decent job under £500 imho.
