How to find A/C to buy?

Porsch

New member
Hy, I have 964 Carrera 4 92` but unfortunately without Air condition! Now I`m trying to find where to buy whole A/C complet ( Compressor, evaporators, electric stuff) all the parts I need to put it in my car! So far I only found theese LINK

Do you have any sugestions where I could find parts that I need, no matter new or used ( but functional:)

Thank you

Alex,

It's got to worth trying some of the breakers although it may be a little risky with a/c parts since you'll only discover if they are truly functional once they're fitted. It's a very labour intensive install, requiring the dismantling of the firewall and removal of the heating unit in order to fit the evaporator. It's also likely to be VERY expensive since some of the individual parts are £££££s.

In the UK places like Douglas Valley and Porsch-apart have got to be worth a try. Some of the parts, like the compressor and the evaporator are not Porsche-specific so you may be able to source elsewhere cheaper. One other aspect to be aware of is that fitting the support bracket for the compressor is, I beleive, an engine out job.

Good luck with the search - and the install.

Dave

There was a compleate system on ebay a few months back so if your prepaired to wait you may get one there. My honest opinion is that the retro fit is so expensive its not worth doing. You need CCU module, compressor, evaporator,Radator n/s front wheel arch, Pipe work......etc, Not sure if you have to change the interior fan assembley compleate. I have heard of this all being done but they were installed by the owner of the car. If you want a pro to do the job then it will be hard on the wallet!! Plus the parts alone will be very expensive a ccu module is well over £1000 pounds from porsche!.

My advice would be to open the window!![:D] or buy a new car!

Tim
