Hot starting issues with 1977 911 (fitted with 3 litre engine)

Hi,
I am sure a lot of people have had this (or have it) but thought I would list the works I have had done to see if anyone can point me to another culprit!
New fuel pump with working non return valve, new accumulator fitted, new injectors (as thought o rings could be perished). Starts very well when cold or starting straight after turning off. If I leave the car over 20 mins (heat soak?) it will not start.
The airflow meter arm does lift to start fuel flow through when I crank the engine. I can lift the arm to prime the injectors to start.
I did list this in the 2.7 section but have another question. The mechanic fitted a new accumulator by copying the one already there but I notice that my mates 3.0SC has a bigger accumulator (mine for the 2.7 is a about a third of the size), would this give me my problem?

As a 911 Carrera 3.2 owner I have not got experience of an accumulator or airflow meter arm. What I have done is to have a quick search on previous Forum threads, apologies if you have already done this and covered off the points discussed in the links below.

Me again, I am going to change my non return valve at the fuel pump as I am not 100% sure that my original one is not playing up. I need one to fit a 10mm banjo as the new valve is for 12mm banjo. I know they are hard to find but someone may have one out there. Pelican Parts in the US are looking as well.

Wondering if the smaller accumulator does not hold enough fuel volume for the 3.0 set up.

Are you still having problems hot-starting?
If not, what was the solution?
If it is "heat soak" then perhaps the cooler weather will reduce the rate of fuel evaporation (if this is the cause?)
The larger accumulator is used on '81 and later SC and 930 Turbo engines, so it might overcome your problem.
 
Hi, yes all fixed there was a missing O ring in the fuel pressure regulator. Found out that inner ring is BS008 size and with one of them fitted it now holds pressure and starts instantly!

Thanks for the feedback, good to hear there was a "simple" fix, although finding the cause needed head-scratching, it seems!!
