Hi Mr Racing Driver,
I was rather relieved to see that "removing your turbo cycling valve" was not connected in any way to "I think I've killed my car" !!

By the way lovely pickey.......if only I were femail I'd probably swoon all over you....guess that's the idea huh? []

Oh almost forgot...what on earth is a Turbo Cycling Valve...is it what us lesser mortals call a waste gate? [8|]

Ah Mr Oily,

In the first instance, I'm assuming, from your comments, that you have been to my web site? You are very kind in your observations, but knowing me "in the flesh" (but obviously not in the Biblical sence) you will realize that pictures can be deceptive [;)]

Turbo Cycling Valve, also know as Turbo Timing Valve, is part of the very complex Porsche turbo control system ensuring that massive boost pressures don't grenade your engine. Having fitted an aftermarket performance chip (which relies on running higher boost) many of the Porsche fail safe devices have been disabled the Timing valve being one of them.

The Porsche waste gate remains although this is shimmed to ensure the higher boost pressures don't bleed away through premature opening. Porsche like the Turbo to taper off at higher revs.

Some could say that all I am doing is removing the constraints that the Porsche marketing department put on the 944 Turbo to ensure it wasn't faster than the 911 Turbo. [8|]

So you're telling me that the get up was purely for the picture eh.......vanity, thy name is vanity!

Ah .................well............yes.............you see............. us early 911ers shun the need for such exotica prefering to have the pin sharp throttle response that can only come from having inlets directly attached to the right foot, thus avoiding the perils of such things (as dare I say it) black ice perhaps?! [;)]
