Hi All. I am looking for an enthusiast who would be willing to have a look at the car and advise best way to proceed. I am in Farnborough GU148, joined the club for a very purpose to save this lovely car(by advise of a friend). It's owner suffered a stroke and won't be able to enjoy his car anymore, which is upsetting enough. The car needs some work to be done - its front screen has a crack about 25 cm, and the car has been stationary on my driveway for around 2 years now, MOT expired in August 2023. That much I know. The idea is to learn best way to proceed furter, prevent its further deterioration and get the car to a sellable contition. The proceeds will go towards his son future, so I would like to proceed the budget friendly option - if such thing is possible
Ayone who is local to us and would be willing to advise, please get in touch. Many thanks. Ewa

Hi Ewa,
As above, but since you’re in Hampshire this post will also be better placed in the Club’s Southern Region slot to get a better response:
www.porscheclubgb.com
Even better, I would be inclined to contact one of the Regional Officers here to discuss possibilities:

May be worth joining and posting on the the 911UK Forum too... they also have a dedicated 996 section.
Best of luck.

If I was in your position I wouldn’t over think it. Don’t stress yourself. Find out as much information about the car, including service history, numbers of owners, work done etc. it should be in the pile of papers that come with the car. Is it HPI clear? Once you’ve done that post a “what’s it worth” thread on here, 911UK.com and the Porsche section on pistonheads. If you don’t get any bites that way, stick it on eBay with as much info as you have and see how much it fetches, perhaps using the mean guesstimate price as a reserve or starting bid.
Once you’ve done that, whatever the car sells for is what it’s worth. Trying to fix it and tidy it up will be stressful for you, uncertain and potentially a waste of time. You’ll also have skin in the game - admittedly for a worthy cause but these are outside of your control.
If the car is an automatic/tiptronic - my guess would be somewhere around £12k with a floor at £10k. More if it’s a manual, less if it’s not HPI clear.
Good luck either way.
