Help Needed With Daily Nag

My daily nag, a 1.0 vvti Yaris has developped a really annoying near side rattle when riding over rough tarmac or bumps at low to medium speed [] It sounds like metal on metal and is becoming really annoying!!! An initial check of the suspension didn't show up any obvious culprits but I went ahead and changed the drop links and ARBs anyway but to no avail!!! I have even changed the spring on that side and still the noise continues!!! The damper was in good order (like new) when I changed the spring and all the ball joints and other bushes are looking in perfect nick. It doesn't happen very often but this one has got me stumped I am afraid. I would be grateful of any thoughts if you have any thanks.

My Aunts Yaris is a '02 1.2 and it developed somthing similar.. I didnt look at the car myself but apparently the rear suspension subframe mounting was loose !

Im only going on the chat around the table unfortunatley... I cant see how this is happening Rob if you have all the bushes, balljoints and droplinks changed unless the shock isnt what it seems...

Funny you should say that Simon but I said exactly that to Andy last night. That's my last theory and then I am completely boned!!!!

Been there mate all the exhaust mounts are soild as a rock. In fact apart from this annoying rattle I really love this little car. It's been in the family for 11 years and 100k. It still drives like new and has never had a breakdown or repair apart from routine stuff. In fact I checked the valve clearances on the little 1.0 litre 16V vvti engine last week and they were practically factory!!! And the aircon is still icy cold!! The only thing is I am fast realising that parts for the turbo are a lot cheaper than for a Jap car. Go figure that [&:]
