Help - cant get petrol flap open!!!

Just driven up to Scotland in my "new" (10 yr old) toy:)
What a joy !
BUT stopping to refuel could not open petrol flap. Also noticed boot and bonnet also remained locked??
Fidded around for 15 mins and then flap opened, so filled up and on my way again

Its a bit of a worry as on a busy trip.
What is the cause? Am I doing something wrong?
The button on key does not work = prob. needs new battery.

Appreciate your advice.
 
Not sure why they didn't unlock, but if the flap remains locked there is an emergency cable that is operated by a ring in the drivers door jamb (only visible with the door open).

Thank you Mark, but on mine (1999 -T reg) no ring pull.
If I fiddle with the door lock, turn ignition on and off a few times, eventually it suddenly works.
B ut soon reverts to locked again.
As long as I have sufficient petrol to get home - then either OPC Wilmslow, or that co at Holmes Chapel can sort it!
I was told prob a faulty solenoid
