Congrats on becoming a Dad.

I did get out to have a good look today took the glove box off and I'm pretty sure
The early square dash is a lot different I can find the cable but it goes straight threw the bulkhead on to the heater control valve





 
Good news all round then.......congrats BTW, little fella will soon be doing "car stuff" with dad

Mine is either full cold or full hot, depending on where I set the temperature dial to. I'd love a bit of variation between the 2 extremes! I expect I'll be dismantling the glove box to take a look at the weekend

Did you find out if the clip was the cause of this? I've got the same problem. (Or at least, I had it until my vacuum system failed and left the heater on full heat all the time!) Might as well fix them both together if the clip is the problem...
