Got a stripped thread in the headlight retaining bracket, its the small bracket inside the Headlight bowl anyone had this problem and what did you do to fix it, would a heli coil insert do the job ? the amount of thread length in the bracket seems very small[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Don't have the answer for this but i would guess an insert is probably not possible due to the lack of meat around what is left after redrilling the hole(would think it borderline stuff) best to ring a specialist who's likely to have done this before. One other possibility, fill the hole with weld or liquid metal and re-tap the thread(though i have never had good things from liquid metal type products).

Hi

Had this problem with mine on one side. Got a mechanic friend of mine to mig weld a small nut on the back of the bracket. Covered the whole surrounding area with wet rags to stop any paint damage. Only a quick touch with the welder was needed. Worked perfectly!

Hope this helps.
