Headlamps wont go down

Be very careful working on the lights. I'm sure you know, but it never hurts to mention it, that the mechanism is powerful enough to really hurt if your fingers are in the way.

tried another light switch and still not workng
tried another headlamp motor still not working
checked power to motor in off position all ok
checked power to motor in on position all ok
checked fuses all ok
nothing blocking or obstructing the mechanism
I wonder if there are any other checks that I could try if anybody can help

Ok... Well since you have checked the motor,switch and the mech it must be the wiring. First thing I'd do is connect the motor directly to a 12v supply, can't remember the wiring but should be easy enough. If the motor's ok then the lights should operate, next use a multi-tester and check each wire from the switch to the motor for continuity, if the wires are ok then check all multi-plugs for dirty/broken connections.
