With an entry of 15 in the Porsche Club Speed Championship come and see if Paul Howells can make it five wins in a row and take a crack at Colin Beltons 2008 record of 62.37 seconds up (and down) this challenging hill...

I have a couple of spare tickets if anybody interested.......

Breathe in as you go through the farm!!! Would love to come up, but will be at Cadwell - which I thought was going to be scary, but actually thinking of you in a cup car at Harewood leaves me wondering which will be worse!

keep us posted as usual.

What time are you on ?

I may be playing the dutiful Grandfather --- or I may be at Harewood pretending to play the dutiful Grandfather [:)]

Hi Mel

Just driven past Harewood and thought of you. I assume you will be travelling via the A1, if so , beware that the Bramham Horse Trials are on this weekend using the same junction. I have often spectated at Harewood over the years but I am not around this weekend (racing my pushbike). Enjoy yourself.

Ian

Good luck and as Hugh says, watch Farm and that tricky top corner at the end.

Did that climb (or the shorter up hill only bit) in the late 70s in an old RS Escort and saw Josh Sadler in his white 930 turbo - and ADO in the F1 cars if you can remember Harewood in those days :)

Yes, a great day.

We had fun but had to leave after a Morgan parked himself between the Armco and a small tyre wall. All very driveable, but bruised [;)]

I'll upload a couple of piccies this evening [;)]

OK, so this is how my Pops says you go down a hill !!

Hi
Who won then mel in p1
I missed a week some where,i was going to contact harewood today to say i cant make it,and already missed it!
Been rather busy at work and Preping for porto historic races next week.

Come on Melv, I dont believe thats the full story, what was it like? Did you find the farm scary? And how about that last corner, a closing right hander that doubles back on itself to the finish line, surrounded by an inviting gravel trap. Thats got to be tricky to get the balance right in a 911.

How can u forget Paul???
Karl P1 Paul, though Ian fastest overall. Simon Butterworth would have won overall if his head gasket hadn't gone in practice.
Farm? No prob Hugh, was just concentrating on my braking point at the following corner! Quarry OK once I sussed it in third, braked, apexed and tickled it across the line on the torque -saved time over changing down into second. Bit ballsy with all that crash barrier on the left!

Thanks melv
I Have managed to clear over the top of the gravel trap twice on the top corner, once i nearly ended up in the camp site! Great place, you don't have time to be scared[:D]

Nigel,

Congrats must go to you and your sterling time, beating the Evo's. Look forward to seeing you back on the hill August Bank holiday.
