hard cornering rumble

when i come off the motorway onto a long left at speed, i get a bearing like rumble.

is this likely to be the transaxle, or something else?


at low speeds its not a problem, so if its not a common problem i'll let it develop.

Rear wheel bearing at a guess. Unfortunately the only way of being sure is to change them. Rich

I'm no expert on these things but I'd agree with rcsalmons - most likely to be a wheel bearing rear right that's being loaded through left hand corners. I believe that relatively speaking the driveshafts and CV joints don't get much load through cornering ?

Could also be front wheel bearing - and it's a bit frustrating tracking it down to that when you've already gone to the expense of getting the rears done...

When a rear has gone you will definately hear the noise from the back.

I had a front gone - and the noise seemed like it came from the back - definitely didn't feel it through the wheel Took a lot of tracking down - Promax solved the problem eventually
