If you leave it longer than a couple of weeks it's a good idea to invest in a battery conditioner to keep the battery topped up with charge.
Tyres also need to be rotated, that's just a feature of them, if they stand in one poition too long they don't like it.
i agree wth the above re the tyres - you can get relatively cheap rubber trough things that stop flat spots if you are leaving it for a long time. if you are leaving it a really long time then you might want to ask porsche the best way to store it.

As noted by previous post - definitely make sure the brakes are all dried off before sticking it in the garage - after a clean before storing I give it a quick run out and do a bit of hard braking (when safe to do so....)
Also I leave the handbrake off.
As for the alarm (you've probably figured this out by now) but if you leave the car (certainly on my 986 S) for more than 5 days the remote central locking (again as previously posted) does switch off. If you just then open the door with the key and do nothing else for a few seconds the car alarm will go off so you can either re-activate using the fob (having opened with the door key) and all will be well or you can go straight to starting the engine in the normal way which will de-activate the alarm as well (if it's sounding by that time).

Only thing to add is that if you wash it before storing, then make sure it gets a good run to dry off the brakes and blow water out of any catch points.
And once the car has cooled again, this stuff is good:

8000ml ?
Store a car with wet brakes for months on end in a damn environment and it makes no difference what mileage its covered - i've seen cars outside OPC Reading which are thick with red rust on all discs.

Happy days,

Mins has just clocked up 800 miles but got its second good soaking last Saturday on a cruise around the Ribble Valley. I rather suspect it will be less than 18000 miles before it gets wet again!
Good to know the roof works though!
