Fuel Pump

Morning everyone

Just a quick question about my 2.7 lux, does the fuel pump start and prime the system when the ingnition key is turned to position 2 or just when the engine is turned over?

What should happen: When the engine reaches a certain cranking speed the fuel pump rely is energised (the fuel pump relay and the ECU relay are combined in one outer 'DME relay'. What can happen: after an aftermarket immobiliser has been fitted, the fuel pump may prime when the ignition is energised.
 
Thanks chaps, ive had a play with shorting out the relay to get the fuel pump to work which is ok, but still cant get the car to run as per another thread ive posted.
