Fuel line up over the rear axel on an S2

Fuel line over the rear axle threw its leg outta the bed this morning......:(

I hear the rear axle may have to come off to replace this?

Questions are -

1) Does the rear axle definitely have to come off?

2) If so then many hours work involved?

3) are the fuel lines generic parts or will they need to be ordered in from the four corners of the world?

Yes to all. Unless....

You can use a flexi pipe to repair, if it's done properly and checked regularly at services, whatever other people say. Or, I know RPM have a solution that works around the axle without the amount of work involved, I'd guess other indies have solutions as well.

I had mine done once and they tried to shortcut the job, the line was left resting on the gearchange linkage.

Thankfully I had the car in somewhere else shortly that knew what they were doing and I got it sorted.

You can use a flexi pipe to repair,

Yup

BUT.................ensure you flare the ends of the metal pipes and use proper fuel hose clips as the pressure is considerable so you dont want the hoses blowing off or leaking and spraying a nice petrol mist around []
