Front fog light help

Howdy folks,
Right I brought a second hand front spoiler for me 86 Lux, the one with the front fog lights built in. When I fitted the new spoiler the wires appeared to already be in the car loom for the fog lights. I connected the wires to the fog lights. It appears though that these wires take power direct from the dipped head lights, as even with no front fog light switch in the loom, the fog lights come on when the head lights are turned on.
I found under the dash that the wires are also there for a front fog light switch. So I fitted the switch, but still the fog lights come on with the dipped beam. Also noted that the small green light in the switch comes on in the off position when the dipped beam is turned on...
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

Do they come on as Full brightness or more dimmed?

If dimmed this is correct as they are on when your lights are switched on and are more like driving lights (a bit like the new Audi/ BMW lights that are seen on their new cars)

Sounds like you have a short or crossed wires Dan, fog lights only come on via the switch the lights in the bumper come on with 1st turn of light switch and remain on once headlights pop up.

Yeh the side lights in the bumper work fine, its just the fog lights in the spoiler.. Will have to get under there when the weather turns, as Im assuming that like most cars, the front fog lights will come on with just the side lights needing to be on?

I have the same problem for some time now and i can't figure it out . I checked all the wiring and the relays ,they all seem good . One strange thing is that if i take out the headlight motor fuse out they work as they should but of course the motor doesn't work any more.

Yeh I noticed they flash on as the lights go down as well.... Puzzling

On our 924S's,the slightly earlier one has no dim dip,the sidelamps in the fog/driving lamps come on at 1st position of the dash switch, headlamps stay down-2nd position, headlamps up dipped beam inc sidelamps--main beam-fog/driving lamps as well plus sidelamps.
The later one, raises headlamps on 1st position with dim light & sidelamps,2nd position -as above-can't get foglamps/driving lamps on without headlamps even with the rear foglamps on-a swith position is blanked in the central console.
