Front ARB clamps

I'm a bit confused, needed to buy a new pair of inner bush clamps for the front ARB.

Everywhere I looked (inc. the PET) showed part no. 944.343.731.00

Now when I've got them home they will fit INSIDE the one's on the car! []

Thing is now that I look more there appears to be a larger version for thicker ARB's Part No. 944.343.731.02

My car is just a reg. 2.5 from '88, wondering if anyone can confirm if they used the thicker bar even on the standard car by that point?

Cheers

Cheers Rob

OK someone hit me with the stupid stick, I was only looking at the 85 PET list, ARB isn't even the same, you'd thinkI'd notices after doing the wishbones and bushes on mine!!

lol [:D]

ARB isn't even the same!!

£12 posted for a new pair of ARB clamps Part No. 944.343.731.00 if anyone wants a set

I'm glad you've sorted out the problem !

I was just about to point out that as far as I know all the ARB mounting brackets are the same for the later 944's and 968's, its just the thickness and the internal diameters that differ as the external diameter is the same to fit the brackets - bit like putting larger wheels on with lower profile tyres ?

Hmmm. One of mine rusted through a year or so ago, so they are a worthwhile buy for someone whose car is still on the originals. (I replaced both of mine to be sure, and the other one was a little rusted as well.)

Could try fleabay if no-one on here is interested.

Oli.

ETA: Could you take 'em back to the dealer for a refund? Mine had one in stock, so it's a moderately fast-moving item. Did they order them in specially for you?

There's no issue with taking them back just giving someone the chance have them posted to their door for the price you'd pay driving to your OPC [:D]
