Hi, can anyone tell me the best place to buy the wood/metal foot boards from, the insulation has been removed so the carpet is all crumpled up in the drivers and passegers side.
 
Dont know about the wooden bit, but for the metal footplate, a peice of ali off Ebay and cut it yourself would be a good easy way of doing it. You would just need a template.

Rennline in the US produce some metal reproductions of the floorboards - click here. I'm sure there are others too. Looking through the Rennlist Vendor listing (where I found these) might point you in the right direction.

Cheers for replies, Its the track mats on Rennline discribed (Cup Car Floor Panels) that I am after, dont they make them in the UK. [:)]

Have a look at the floor in my Cup at Oulton when u have the chance...............
 
Metal chequer plate on original wood..........drivers wood panel was used as pattern and then reversed for passenger side........plus added Sparco foot rest to pax side....
 
Ian, I see your cup car has a welded in bracket to attach the floor board to:

I know that C2s don't have this bracket but will Stephen have it on his RS? As you might guess I'm plotting to do something similar on mine but it's not straight forward because of the lack of fitting points and it being RHD. The Rennline track mats that Dave posted above are a nice option but at $300 a pair, I'll be going the wooden route too [;)]

They're having a laugh -my pair cost about fifty squid!!!

Mine cost about £2. Using the drivers side as the template but with one or two changes to allow for seat runners and wiring plus some ply wood, I have an excellent wooden passenger floor in my Cup.

Forget that old fashioned metal stuff, weight where you need it, not just for cosmetics [:D]
 
You might like to contact Club member and antique furniture restorer Ron Vincent who has a side business in making original pattern floorboards for the 911. He has made and supplied many for the Early 911 models which have to be steam bent to get the correct shape. I have spoken to him and he might be able to make to your pattern. I have a pair in my E911 and they are superb. His email is ron@ronvincent.force9.co.uk

I got out the Jigsaw, --- but this looks great !
 
Cheers Robin, I have got my template cardboard and marker ready so i can take templates from another RS if someone lets me.[:D]
