Fog light Issues

Hi All

Still having issues getting my 2.5 lux ready for MOT. I can not get the rear fog light to work, I've cleaned the connections used a tested and working bulb, wiggled it, tested with volt meter, checked for resistance and wiggled every fuse, taken out the main headlight switch checked connections wiggled the plug on and off a bit etc... Nothing!

I did have the little light on the side of the fog light switch glowing earlier today but the bulb didn't come on. That could have been poor connections at that point but there clean now and the little light on the fog light switch will not light or the rear fog light bulb.

The fronts don't work either so am presuming same problem or failed bulbs. I haven't gone further on them due to rusted and burred screws holding them in and as I don't think they are essential for the MOT I'm leaving them for now.

Any ideas really appreciated!

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim

Can't really help you I'm afraid, other to confirm that the front fogs don't have to be working for the MOT so that's one less thing to worry about.

Good luck with sorting it ;)

For rear fogs to work - fronts must be on ! Gets mot testers as well.
And to get any fogs on at least side lights must be on.

If that doesn't work I'd be looking at the relay - remove put back in etc.

Thanks, I thought I was in the right area so I'll just carry on with the volt meter!?
You never know with these cars if it's a know fault and the answer can be an easy one!
