fixed 3 point rear belt fitting question

I'm getting a little frustrated by this now :) , I can now source brand new rear belts cheaply however looking in the car lifting up the seat base etc I cant see where they would bolt on. All I can see is the screw you takew out at the top of your shoulder. where are the other two points for each belt i just cant see it ?. I assume you have to change the rear seat too as obviously there are no slots for anything to go through.

Three point belts have three fixing points(!). One on either side of the rear seat passenger and the third in the C pillar. All cars have these: the higher mount where the belt terminates has a large plastic blanking screw and the two lower mounts are accessed by poking a hole through and carefull enlarging it (youll see that this is exactly what happened on the production line).

I know the upper mounts of course as you can see them but I just lifted the rear seat base and saw no holes.
There is a lot of of soundproofing and crap under there though. Also I assume from what you are saying that there are two holes under the side carpet that I need to break through too and two holes one in eac hside of the ' centre tunnel'.

Are the other holes definately there and already pre drilled for the bolts basically ?

I'm back off out to look more thoroughly !

Yes, the fittings are there on all cars.

Personally, Id buy used clips, selecting a pair whose plastic sheaf was in unmaked condition and Id buy new belts.

Iv took pics, off the places u need, can't uploaded them now. But if u need rear seats I have full leather ones.

The holes your looking 4 have tube washers before them, not sure if there be there under the seats. But there used when fitting, 2 stop the bolts crushing the seats

Right whose the cheeky sod who offered to sell me the side carpets I need with the holes in :p

944man , of course I know that it is said on the web that all 944's have the three points but you know what the web is like.

After your extra bit of guidance I looked properly [8|] and pulled away the glued on sound insulation exposing the said hole. Also exactly as you described the carpet if you pull it away from the glue has the hole pre made in the back at the right point so you can practically break through with your finger. Now i can confidently go aheads and order the two belts. The only thing that might be a little difficuly is making a hole in the rear seat by the tunnel in exactly the right pl;ace to be next to the
'tunnel side hole' so as not to make a mess of it , ill have to give that some thought.

When Ive done it in the past I have placed a marking device in the centre holes and then lowered the rear squab onto the body. For piece of mind you might be better off bumming a worthless old squab off someone and using it as an extra guide.

What trim does the car have in at present?

Re the offer of carpet - I expect that this was whn you were looking at fitting inertia reel rear, because these need a different rear quarter carpet to cover the reels.

They are a sort of ivory vinyl sports seat with 'latticed' centre backs and bases. Not my choice but tbh ive seen far worse.

I maybe that cheeky person? , and yes, the was the rear boot side carpets along with everything needed 2 do the conversion. When you was looking 4 belts and advice.

The holes 2 the seat belts are about 15mm so if u can start small there be some room 4 error. The cap that covers the 17 mm bolt maybe 25mm so again some room. If u make a hash off it you can always replace the seats

Yes it was you and yes i was joking , im sure most folk here know my humour by now [8D]
Ive ordered them and hopefully they'll be in on friday.

Cheers
