been looking at this audi on pistonheads article;

http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=19303

Article does mention porsche development on the car.

Hehe I wish I was still a youngster. Pardon my Audi ignorance, never been much of a fan of them or estate cars in general despite some wiseguy telling me I'm driving an Audi 944.

Ive since googled the RS2 and am better educated ;)

And what an enjoyable education that would have been!

Search for "Audi RS2" on here. There have been a number of discussions about them.

Put it like this, I think I'll be buying one as my next car. After the S2. If I can ever afford one ...

Oli.

That RS2 is just lurvely. There is something about fast estate cars - we oh so nearly had a Alpina B10 3.3 touring - looked fab.
That one was strong money for an RS2 but it looks spotless.

Very nice [8D]

(Although not as nice as the later V8 - i swithered over a 2nd hand one of those when I got the Scoob wagon)

Its funny how things change. I owned a 968 when the RS2 was introduced and I remember looking (at a blue one) and thinking: Id really like that. As the owner now of a really fast estate car, I look at 968s again and think.....

I'm a fast estate fan also and came oh-so-close to buying an RS2 a few years ago. I'd still like one though it seems unlikely I ever will. Should have bought one over the RS6 and save myself a five figure sum really.

Which fast estate do you have, Simon?

Subaru Impreza (Classic). I used to import them from Japan when they were worth something and before the owner-profile took a turn for the worse.

*eta: it seems fitting that this was my 555th post...*

Oooh, one of my least favourite cars ever I'm afraid. I had an RB5 briefly, just around the time the owner profile started to change. The wagon has to be alot better than the booter though I have to admit.
