Fair weather?

Nope ... one thing about the Boxster is that it is as much fun with the roof up as it is down. I had MGBs and Zs before and frankly they only came into their own when the sun shone, but the Boxster is a different kettle of fish!

No. It was bought to be used so it commutes to work each day and does the fun stuff at weekends. Previously we had one car for each of these tasks but decided that a Boxster could do both, that' s how we justified buying one. Our first Boxster covered 2500 miles in 18 months and we don' t intend to let this one do the same - it' s already done 4000 miles in 4 months. Using it daily helps us to rationalise the money we spent on it!

My Boxster is my main car 2 1/2 years old and comming up to its 3rd service (36000). I use it everyday during the week but unlike most it stays in the garage over the weekend [:-]. The weekends I get to drive the Galaxy as I am not allowed to put the kids in the front and rear boots. Still don' t know why.

The car only gets cleaned when it needs to be. The roof will stay down all the time it can (been down all this week) and will only go up if it is raining and I am getting wet. If it is a passing shower then as long as I can keep the speed up then I will keep the roof down. I find that the best top down motoring is in the winter. As long as the sun is shining, then the heater is up full, Fleece and baseball hat, this is great. Driving at night in the summer with the roof down must come second. I must admit sometimes I would like to put the roof up on realy hot days and keep cool with the climate on but I just cannot do it. I must admit I do have the climate on on hot days with the roof down to keep my toes cool. Does this help global warming?

I' ve even had the top down at minus 3 degrees, thanks to heated seats ! The missus protested at the idea however after I promised to put the top up the moment she was cold, we set off. 90 miles later, she was still smiling.

Noap - mine is used as main car. I cover around 18000 miles a year. Only just bought the Boxster so it will be interesting to see how comfortable it is to that kind of mileage in.

Certainly not!

38 months and almost 54000 miles.

Is that a hard top I see?

What happens on good sunny winter days. You are missing the best weather for open top driving [:D]

Each to his own..

I use my car every day of week all year around and opportunities to enjoy top down driving are relatively few when compared to the days where I drive to and from work in darkness, cold - damp darkness or grey leaden skies.[X(]

I know that there is a hardcore element out there, whizzing around with silly hats on in all weathers but my budget did not stretch to heated seats and quite frankly swanning around in an open top car in the middle of winter, freezing my ' nads off[&:], just isn' t my bag!

April to October is fine by me![:)]

I use mine most of the time 45,000 miles from new 3.5 years old. Don' t go to work in it though unless sun is shining as all as most of the time it isin traffic slippng it' s clutch. If I am going South on the motorway on business I use my Golf. If I' m going North I use the Porsche - better roads.

Hard top goes ont the car end of Oct (usally) and i love it so much with the hard top on,Heated rear screen is a god send if the car has been waiting in the staff car park on a winters day.

in the spring i usally delay taking it off again for as long as i can.
