Exhaust time

Hi all. I've just had another emergency weld done on a fairly knackered (poss original) exhaust. So, back box looks done in, and I may go for the Dansk system there. If I go for the centre section, which is also looking poor now, do I have to replace the cat too? Could de-cat I suppose, but ideally I'm looking for a good complete system including cat or de cat pipe, from down pipes back. Apart from Porsche Shop, can anyone recommend a full system please?

I've got a fairly new full stainless on my S2, but will be taking it off over the winter to put something noiser on, hopefully sell the current system on this forum.

Dansk do good SS rear box for the S2
but the Dansk front box is only for the 8V

ESS/SAR used to do a good system (manufactured by Janspeed). Not sure if they still do them ?

I have a Dansk SS rear box section on my S2,very good fit and very quiet.

I have a Dansk rear box on mine. seems good and all that but I am really just a naff little boy racer at heart and want something noisier but still kind of tuneful so that my 3 litres doesn't end up sounding like my 18 year old neighbour's 1.2 corsa.

Does anyone have any ideas what would achieve this but still retain the single oval tail-pipe?

The Dansk SS rear box is very good quality and a reasonable price from sellers like Bert above. I've had one for about 5 years now and it is lasting very well.

I don't know of anywhere apart from Porsche that sell the front pipe for an S2 (which contains the cat) but if it is only the cat itself that has deteriorated you can have a straight piece of SS pipe welded in its place for around £100. This is what I have

What does the de-cat do in terms of cabin noise, Paul? Given the muffling effect of any turbocharger I am hoping it should be fairly quiet, certainly quieter than it would be on an S2.

I have ax and centre section with cat removed ,just replaced with upgrade both in v/good condition

Just in case anyone hits this topic in a search... I'm amazed at how competitive custom build companies are! Today fitted a stainless system down pipes back, semi sport set up.. Sounds and looks fabulous! De cat too. Could not be more delighted. £340 all in.

On a Turbo it makes it slightly noisier but nowhere near boy racer levels. An added bonus is a noticeable reduction in turbo spool up time as a restriction is removed []

As I hoped, then. I don't really want or need any more power in the upper mid range or bottom end, and the Promax L2 kit ith the DPW helped considerably, but I would still like to improve the throttle response and bring the boost threshold a little further down the rev range if I can. A MAF and decat with some appropriate software looks like the thing, possibly an uprated intercooler too.
