Emails and forum PM

Just in case you hadn't noticed the message yesterday, and today's update, the forum PM system isn't working. Nor are emails sent through someone's profile.

If you've been trying to get in touch with anyone over the last week or so, it might not have gone through. Best thing is to use proper email, mine is 944@porscheclubgb.com, or pick up the telephone and have an old-fashioned conversation. If you have PMd me recently, apologies if I've not replied!

Normal service will be resumed soon. [:)]

Hi Paul, sorry to hijack the thread but it's of a forum-webby-techy nature![:D]

This whole wait two minutes to make a second post rule - is this still necessary? I recall and appreciate the reasons why it was done. I don't know any other forum that does this and it's nice sometimes just to pop on quickly for a couple of minutes and make a few posts. I know I'm just being impatient not wanting to wait two minutes for making another post but is it time for reconsideration of this setting?

Regards
Andy

+1.

Don't post that often but ahve been caught by this rule a few times and find it really annoying.

Just had this happen again and realised not seen any comment on this.

Hi Paul, had you seen this thread before/had chance to contemplate? [:)]

Its called anti-flood. Brett is long gone, so something less conservative would be more appropriate now. I have lost many posts as a result of the excessive two minute anti-flood limit as Im sure others have too.

One minute would be more suitable, I feel, perhaps even 30-45 seconds.

Two minutes is excessive. I can only assume it merits as little comment as it does because Porsche owners are mainly geriatric and the slow typing caused by their arthritic fingers means it isn't too much of an issue.

I'll bring it up next time we meet. With the ongoing problems with the email I'm not messing with anything at the moment! It seems to be "fix one problem, create two more". [&o]

Thanks Paul - I understand you not wanting to tinker too much given the other issues!

Cheers

Hi Paul

Given all seems to be fully functional again can this be reconsidered now? [:D]
