East Kilbride classic car show today .....

Hi folks , re the classic car show at The museum of country life in EK - did anyone go ? : as I live nearby in Bothwell I though I'd pop along with the family ...... My wife and daughter wernt fussed , my son was lukewarm but I made a good case - until our arrival .......25 quid admission for the 4 of us ! Now I'm not a tight arse but c'mon surely this is far too hefty For a Lanarkshire car show ? As the family wasn't too bothered we about turned and went elsewhere .

Any comments?

I think what you are paying is the Museum entry.

I was going to pop along for an hour or so but didn't as I would have paid £7 or so to see cars I may well see elsewhere this year, at the likes of Thirstane.

Don't think you are tight, just economic with your hard earned cash.

don't blame you barry - for a 3rd rate show in that location....you were probably not the only carload to turn away....

I agree the entry is a bit steep for a 300 +show .The entrants get a voucher for £5 to use for food and it costs us nothing to enter .We had good turnout about 15 cars and the weather stayed good all day .This show is very popular and is fully booked way ahead of the cut off date so is well supported.

On the subject of shows keep the date 30th Sept free as have been asked to get some 50 + Porsches to an event being planned in E-K will give details when we have talks with the organizer may ask Ferrari owners as well to increase the size of the venue so dont sell the car Greig

There are too many poor shows charging way too much. I decided to go to the Scottish Motorcycle show at Ingliston this year. Used to be the highlight of my summer, although I haven't been in years. £4 to park, £16 to get in (just for me alone) and it was the worst show I have ever been to. I had seen everything of worth in ten minutes, and I stayed for less than an hour. Biggest waste of £20 I can imagine. [:'(]
