early bore scoring- what happened next?

I've also asked this question on pistonheads so apologise if anyone is reading this here as well.
A friend has a low mileage 997.1 with a manual box, that he has owned for around ten years. He's in his 70s and doesn't use the internet much.
On a major service he asked the garage to borescope the car during the plug change- they found evidence of scoring in cylinders 5 and 6- but was described as light.
Have any members experienced similar, and how did the scoring progress? the garage advised he might not have issues for several years.
He does around 3000 miles a year.
car is running well- no external signs of scoring- and uses minimal oil- he usually doesn't need to top up between services.
thanks

The car will start to smoke and gradually use more oil. It's pot luck as to whether it will last for 3k more miles or 30k more miles.

Many owners live with it and get rid of the car as soon as it is practicable for them. Anyone purchasing a 997.1 MUST do their own due diligence.

Those that cherish their 997s, and want to keep it for a long time, get it sorted, swallow the £££s cost and then get on with enjoying the 911 experience.
