Early 911 & Fuchs wheels , tubed tyres

Hi everyone , have a '69 911E that I take to circuit , 15 inch Fuchs , 6inch front rims & 7 inch rears , am going to change out the Pirelli P6000 tyres for some Michelin Race TB's.

The Pirellis are fitted with tubes as the early wheels were designed for tubed tyres - no retaining bead , large valve hole etc

The Michelin tyres are intended to be tubeless - will it be dangerous to fit these on the early Fuchs without tubes , using TR415 valves to fit valve hole ?

Or will they twist off the wheel under stress ?

I would suggest you contact a tyre specialist, or contact Steve Kevlin at Club office.
Advice on this subject given with little knowledge could prove expensive if not fatal[&o]

Not sure I would fit them to rims made for tubes but agree talk to a specialist. Jaz in wembly comes to mind as they race an early car or any of the usual suspects.

You could always buy a set of 6 and 7" minilites for track use as these are very cheap.

I race 65 911 with early 6/7 fuchs and dunlop cr65 , I run tubeless , I have found oversize rubber valve to fit wheels any competent tyre dealer should be able to help

Think Ive sorted out my original PM query to you , but here's another query for the public forum.....

What are pro's and con's of replacing 15 inch wheels with 16 inch wheels assuming its possible ??
