As previously mentioned, I am keen to upgrade to DSG when it arrives, supposedly in Mar 09. I want to for the following reasons:
1. I believe a manual clutch pedal to be obsolete.
2. If I move the gear lever etc, I expect the transmission to be smart enough to operate the clutch for me.
3. I dislike 'Tiptronic' as it uses an old fashioned fluid flywheel and thus is inefficient.
4. I gather that DSG can change gear much faster than I can and without losing revs... hence increased performance or economy.
5. I can accept an increased cost for this option.
Given that Audi already operate such a system, has anyone got any comments?
