Drop link bolt

Changing both front shocks on my 987.1 the drop link bolt that holds the shock into the carrier seems like it is welded in, wd40, heat, brute force will not move the long bolt.
Has anyone any ideas???
 
I expect you have done this by now but I had the same issue. I ended up breaking off the drop link at the ball joint then filing the round collar behind the ball into a hex to match the hex behind in then hammering a socket on and using a breaker bar and impact wrench to start turning the bolt. That worked eventually.
