Having stripped down the door and got the window working my next job is to hopefully get the door lock working.
It works with the same key as the other door/ignition which is handy and the key definately turns the drum ( I tried another key which wont so the lock works)
I have got as far as the picture above shows and was thinking some rod or lever will have come off. However having removed the c/locking solonoid and the backing plate behind it i see that the back of the door handle and lock appears to be hidden behind a thick window rail. Does anyone know how i get to the back of the lock drum and what sort of lever etc im looking for. I will look up clarkes if I have too but I suspect i'm not the first person here to try and get to the back of a passenger door lock !
I should add that a Google searh reveals an awful lot of people on Pelican etc who claim to have "tried the clarkes garage method" and given up after 20 hours of pain. Also lots of suggestions that the window will have to come out and that not being an easy job without specialist tools etc.
This is sounding a lot of trouble and i wonder if its why my lock has been left as is !
Regards Mas
