A mate of mine has a 1988 911 targa and is having issues.

there is no power to the hazzard switch on terminal 30 and theres no power to the washer pump, any ideas?

he says he is confused with the washer as there is a tank inside the boot with a pump for anti silicone, should that work with the normal washers off the stalk or off its own switch?

Any help appreciated.

James :)

I had a look before posting in here mate, and the last post was in 2007, and that was left un-answered.

call me cynical, I thought id getter a quicker reply in here [:D]

My mate had a 964 and the washer bottle was in the front wing. The one in the front boot was for fluid for deep cleansing solution. I never found a switch for it so could only assume it would some how feed it into the normal washer fluid circuit by some means. By what means I don't know how and he sold it before I could get to the bottom of it!! Sorry I can't be more help than that.

Where were you looking? 964 forum is here, and it's one of the biggest registers!

Please let me know where you did look, that's possibly a forum we could delete. [:)]

Cheers I have posted in both :) I couldnt see that post on that other forum before? maybe I was logged out? hmm.

you'll find the small switch further under the dash on the rhs of the steering wheel if my memory serves me correctly.

Your friend's car is a 3.2 and sadly the 3.2 section suffers from a lot of tumble weed!

The older 911s have an interesting approach to dash controls, although not as obscure as the trip reset on the 944. The wash/wipers have many controls. The wipers work off the stalk, but if you want intermittent then you turn them off and twist the long stick that comes out of the dash between the dials.

The washers work by pulling the wiper stalk, but that only fires from one tank, there is another called the intensive wash and this is fired independantly using a rocker switch on the under side of the dash to the right of the steering wheel, above the heater controls.

I can't remember if there are separate motors for these two pumps or not. There is also the headlamp washers and this may be a separete pump too.
