Does anyone else recognise my "new" car?

Sorry - don't recognise your beautiful car - but I did have a LHD car virtually identical about five / six years ago - wonderful cars.

This picture looks soooo good - the correct 'one' wing mirror - so period - a lovely looking piece of Porsche [:)]

I seem to recall the previous owner, Mr Revell, telling me that he bought it from Kenny Dunn, back in the days of the original Longstone Motors. I asked Kenny about it, (he was with Edinburgh OPC at the time) but he did not immediately remember the car, but I'd bet if you drove it up to his new showroom in Edinburgh it would jog his memory.

I have been a PCGB member for 14 years good god is it that long and have never seen that car at any event that I have attended ,where did the owner come from

The car was initially supplied by Glen Henderson in Ayr. I can only guess that it was old stock when registered as it is a 1980 model, first registered in November 1980 (unusually late). Probably because it being the then less desireable non-sport without the optional passengers wing mirror. (How the options list has changed!).

It was first registered to a firm of Bacon curers in Glasgow who ran the car for 5 years and sold it with 55,000 miles, at which point it was turned over by Longstone to Mr Revel (of Torphichien).

Within the documents is indeed the bill of sale from Longstone. Interestingly over the course of his ownership the car would appear to have only depreciated by £250 per year. But then the purchase price in 1986 would have bought a resonable flat in Leith! (Admittedly that's not taking account of 20 years maintenance. [] )

So here it is, having covered only a further 20,000 miles in 20 years now in the care of it's third owner. The car is presently tucked up under an indoor car cover in the garage with the heating on.

I think this will be the fun part of my pension plan!
