All this talk of dates for the new Boxster being released is causing me to question the wisdom of confirming my order slot for an S to replace my 2.7. I have the initial deposit down against a March 2004 delivery (when my 2.7 will be 2 years old), but now I've seen suggestions that the new model could be available from as early as autumn 2004 - can anyone confirm this?

NB: needless to say my OPC are still saying they know nothing about any new model and just suggest I buy the "550" ltd. edition version - which they are now admitting to the existence of!

Chris, I have read in several different mags that the new Boxter will be launched in either Sept04 or Mar05 (the very latest will be Sep05). Porsche keep their cards close to their chest (for obvious reasons) but world wide sales of 911 & Boxter are well down, so I think they will be looking earlier rather than later. Personally I think they will launch the 997 series 911 first to maximise margins & then the Boxter in Mar 05, but you try getting an official response.

Idea... as you are in need of new toy, sell your 2.7, buy a secondhand "S" privately with a chunk of depreciation taken out & run it until the new one arrives when you can PX !!!

My OPC contact tells me the all New Boxster will be launched before the 997!
Says it will be for MY05 which in Porsche speak would suggest deliveries commencing Sept - October 2004.... If I was in your position I would wait for the new model be it 2004 or 5. The Boxster in it's current format has been around a long time now and will probably look even more so when a fresh face finally appears.

New SLK 2004, Z4 already here[:'(] so an all New Boxster is definitely needed sooner rather than later especially as the main market is struggling to sell the current crop [8D]

There's a tiny ad on the Swedish motor magazine website Automobil.se today for "Oemotståndlig - Nya Porsche Boxster" (Irresistable - The new Porsche Boxster):

The ad just links to www.porsche.se, though, there's no particular new Boxster page.
