Delete air conditioning compressor?

POR1983

I'm in the process or replacing my cambelt etc and generally re-comissioning my 1983 944, I never used the air con when I had the car on the road a few years ago and would like to remove the air con compressor etc, however it appears the air compressor acts as the aux belt tensioner, has anyone removed their compressor, how is the belt tension achieved on a non air con car, is the alternator on an adjustable mounting?

The alternator has a different mount and belt on non ac 944's. Should be easy to source them since most 944's in the uk come without ac .

Unfortunately Paul doesnt really have any frontrunner parts now, other than trim and a few bits.

definately not got the sort of 944 stock that he used to carry due to specialising in mx5's nowadays but he has just got 2 924S's in plus a good search around with Rob or Paul often turns up what u need.
