dashboard gargling sound

Hi guys
Starts her up today to move her out the garage for a wash and heard what sounds like gargling coming from behind the dash. Turned the radio off to make sure it wasn't that and get a better hear for the noise.
It sounds a bit like a gargle/water flowing behind the dash dial area anyone got any ideas? could this also possibly be related to what happened yesterday after a short drive into town and back then having her sit idling for a little bit when I got home the temperature fan came on which it's never done before :/ it's gotten me a little worried []

good good glad its not anything to worry about, just get a bit nervous everytime a new sound starts that was never there before. Does that possibly mean the matrix is on its way outdo you think?
Cheers bud

Does sound like maybe a little bit of air stuck in the heater matrix (which is behind the dash). These cars can be a bit tricky to bleed all the air out of the coolant for us amateurs so it may be worth doing it again to get rid of the worrying noise.

Clarks Garage has a good description of the gravity method at the bottom of this page: http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/cool-02.htm

It is very helpful to jack up the front of the car. You may have to do this a few times using the gravity method as it is not as effective as the pressure method used by many pros [:)]

It is normal for the fans to come on after sitting in traffic or having had a damned good thrash at speed (even in winter)

Interesting ... my S2 has done it for the last few years - probably since I bought it. I asked about it on here years ago and was laughed at ... [&:]

Oli.

I get a little bit of this and just assumed it was the water going through the matrix.

My fan comes on after a good spanking or sat at idle after a drive [:)]

The most effective solution to the issue of worrying about strange noises in a 944 is a better set of stereo speakers. [8D]

Sweet really glad its nothing to worry about, may look at bleeding it at some point when I can be arsed. Glad everyones fans come on after not long drives, this is the first time mine had done it and just got me worried lol
Shall sleep easier tonight happy times [:D]

Just fitted new door speakers so no excuse not to do this which I normally do until I know what the sound is, just got to be brave this summer and change the rears so their louder as well :)

Your cooing system definitely needs bleeding properly. I'll bet it happens when you bury your foot in the carpet? It's because of the water pump speeding up with engine revs. If it bothers you then sort it but I don't think it will have any adverse effect.

shall get it done at some point then I reckon even if does no harm better have it sorted than not I rekon.
Cheers

Whenever I have had it after coolant refill and the difficulty in bleeding these cars I have always sorted it because I find it bloody annoying. The best way to bleed these cars is to pressure bleed them. If you don't have the means then I am sure a garage won't charge too many shecckles.

ye I'm finding it annoying already and only heard it like 3 times lol I definitely couldn't live with it.
I know an awesome old skool mechanic who's done odd jobs for me on other cars for next to nothing so might go and see him about it, probably get most work I cant do myself done by him except for stuff like belts where i'll take it to a specialist.
Cheers man!

You can do it yourself if you don't mind sticking your gob on the header tank opening. I have an adapted header tank cap that will take an airline.
