I set out from Central London at 6am , dark but dry , A4/M4 , temp at Hammersmith flyover was 13 deg C

As got further west it became lighter and damper , drizzle at Swindon , and arriving at Castle Combe about 7.45 it was dry but grey. This was going to be first test of new Avon CRZ tyres , hopefully with enough grip to stay out of the Armco. First challenge however was to pass noise test 100db , using the unbelievable stealth pipe ( see pic, patents pending ) ....No Problem.
Met up with Ferry Man (Paul) , who had to turn up in his 993RS in order to get pass noise test. We saw a very nice black 911T parked up sporting PCGB and DDK logos - picture below - Paul tracked down the owner- who was not driving but serving as ballast in a Caterham R400.
After about 90 minutes the drizzle arrived from Swindon and that put a bit of a damper on things. It did equalise the cars out however as the powerful ones could not make as much use of the power. In the rain I could just about hang on to Pauls 993RS , with lack of bottle and of ABS being main handicaps in my case. Its quite exciting to have your pride and joy sliding about with Armco in close attendance

Next up is Goodwood on 14 Nov with the PCGB , could be another damp day but am working on the bottle factor , I'll be up for it
