Cupholders

Why are Porsche cupholders so bad? []

Ok, they work fine for cans, but invariably you end up with 10% of your beverage on yoour passengers lap or the carpet. They are useless for most plastic and glass bottles (Diet Coke & Mineral Waters) as the bottles seem to be in between two of the size setting and I wouldn't even dream of putting a Starbucks / Costa Coffee cup in there!

Come on Porsche... Sort yourselves out!

You've managed to sort out the handling of a car whose engine is essentially in the wrong place, so surely engineering a couple of decent cupholders shouldn't be beyond you!

I once used the cupholder for a Starbucks grande white chocolate mocha latte. The cupholder held the cup fine but the fluid momentum that built up within the cup, at even the lowest speeds, was incredible. The cup had a lid on it and I never imagined that so much coffee could splash out of such a small whole all over my car. It even hit the headrest! I managed to get it clean eventually. Never again. I have concluded that there is a design flaw with the cup and Starbucks need to do something about that! [:D]

The cupholders don't do a good job of holding a bottle of water either but only if you're cornering. The bottle seems to swing out of the holder.

Anyway, I just use them if I have to now. That usually means a bottle of water on a motorway journey and that's it.

Ah, so that is what they are for... and here is me using it as a cradle for my PDA.

THX911,

Great idea... One for the PDA and one for the phone (obviously on quick divert to the car phone [;)] )

hmmm... it a PDA phone [:D]; think normal size phones just fall through...

That's more like it! I believe there's no smoke without fire .... what made her think of doing that .....[:D]

Should be banned in all vehicles of this type IMO.

Adds weight, reduces cred, gimmicky nonsence.

How about a fish and chip wrpper disposal unit instead ?

And another thing - in the 05 model they were ally (may be plastic ally!), now in the 07 model they are black plastic - don't even look sexy any more!
