Cup holder and tray

I fancy changing my cassette holder for a cup holder and tray. On Ebay, Prestige Parts sell them in black leather for £45. Is this the one to gor for or am I missing a trick?

The cup holder doesn't really hold cups very well but is perfectly sized to hold a tin of chewing tobacco.

do you have a link to the item?

UPDATE

Found it [:)]

I have had one in my red car for a few years,it doesnt hold a can of coke that well,if you go round a bend it will fall out.

looks a bit naff imo and not cheap at £45 if it did turn out not to hold a cup very well. If you havn't done it already you can remove all the cassette tray bits from inside the holder without breaking them (so can refit should you wish) leaving you with a little storage space for bits n pieces.

I replaced mine with the 968 tray and liner, a lot cheaper than £45, from Porsche. Doesn't have the cup holder, but I think that's to shallow to work anyway. I don't miss the armrest, some have said they do though.

The tray doesn't hold things well around bends, it's easy for a mobile to fly out and disappear down the back wells or the sides of the front seats. [&o]

I put my cans down the side off the seat and door behind hand brake. Never had a problem in about 35000 miles

Paul, please stop calling it a 968 tray! The cassette box was an option and if you didnt pay, you got a simple oddments tray with a rubber base. My first series two car had this and it was built in 1987 and it is nothing whasoever to do with 968s.

OP, I suspect that youll be disappointed. A friend of mine bought one last year and it was quite different to the part in the photo, and it didnt fit very well.

I agree that the cup holder bit probably won't hold a cup, but it is a good spot to hold my koni adjustable struts key! Almost looks like you can adjust the suspension from inside the cabin by turning this dial on the transmission tunnel.

And don't think the spending stops there Pete! This morning I dropped it off at the body shop for some stone chip paint on the sills and some wax-oil inside them. With a few other touch-ups I can kiss goodbye to another grand. Hey ho.

Next week I'll be fitting some dash bits as well (taking out the yellow and reverting to the original black). So there's more money to waste yet.

Good for you Ewan!! Keep on wasting it mate!! I think i'll join you and chuck another five grand at Jon Boy to sort out some KW v3 suspension for me, along with some decent brakes [8D]. Then i'm gonna chuck another 2 or 3 grand at him to "track day" the interior [8D]. This fcuking spending lark is a hoot [:D][:D]!!!
