CUP 2s

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice as to whether my Cup 2 wheels are original Porsche or replicas?

There are absolutely no markings or stamps on the reverse of the wheel I've taken off (offside front) no part number or anything which lead me to assume they were replicas.
But I've just read that the way to tell originals from reps is that originals will have the offset and width stamped either side of the valve which my wheels have (7/55 front 9/55 rear)

Any ideas guys? I need to replace or repair my offside front as I damaged the stud hole and around it when drilling off a seized locking wheel nut and I've seen a replacement up for sale at a decent price.

Cheers,

Russ

Genuine Porsche wheels have the width and offset in raised letters either side of the valve as you have already found out. They also have various part numbers stamped on the rear of the spokes so why yours has none is a mystery.

It 'could' be they have been refurbed many times and have been ground down or painted over, yet the painter knew enough to protect the width and offset numbers round the front [&:]

Maybe they were used in an armed raid and the serial numbers were ground off to be untraceable :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Whilst this is not a definitive answer, I have not seen any Porsche Cup-type wheels which didnt have a part number on their rear.

This would lead me to conclude that they were copies.
