Crank bolt tightening ?

Okay people what method do you use for tightening the crankshaft bolt, engine in car ?
 
Flywheel lock. Id get it recovered to a specialist and let them do it. Its a job that needs doing right the first time.

I take it you mean the bolt on the crank pullies. I have had this bolt on and off a couple of times recently as I put my engine back together. I would only try to tighten it with a flywheel lock on.The reason is that it needs to be on really tight ( I can't remember the torque setting at the mo ) but I used a 4 foot bar to tighten it.
 
210nm is the exact torque Frenchy. I knew I was in the ball park lol. For the sake of what it costs to buy a flywheel lock I would just do it mate. Looks like your fishing trip is back on. BTW you shouldn't need any thread lock just make sure the torque is right [:)]
