Cost of (exterior) plastic trim on door & front & rear panel

I called Porsche recently and asked them how much the exterior plastic trim which sits on the front panel, door and rear quarter costs. I was surprised when Porsche said its £120 for the three pieces. (One side only.)

Does anyone know if this is available for less money from elsewhere?

Tbh I don't think that's expensive at all, price up some plastic mouldings for current cars (non Porsche).

Then again I have just stepped away from another marque where people were willing to pay £1200 for an original unused rear spoiler, £350 for a dipstick, £1000 for an airfilter box, £1200 for a front grill and blank cheques for original fitment ancient tyres ....... what sort of exotica commands these prices ?

The humble Ford Escort !!

Cheers, Paul

What engine is your car running Paul? I can only assume at those prices you have a Mk1 or 2 Escort ;).

What bits do you mean? If its the rubbing strips on the side of the car I have a set that you can have for the postage cost. I took them off as I was looking for a smoother look.

That's the one.

I'll move this to pm...

I'm in Leicester once a week and not too far from the showroom so could collect if needed.

I did call them and the chap I spoke to said he is looking at a picture and doesn't think there is any thing on the door apart from the handle...

Just give them the part numbers from PET, saves any misunderstanding! [:)]

That's hardly inspiring. He's looking on the wrong page on PET. He's looking at section "804: doors" as opposed to "810: mouldings, insignias".

Glenn is off this week, and will be in next week in the afternoons....
Trust me he knows 944s inside out.
(young trainee holding fort whilst he is away,I called today for him to ask something race related...)

Colin,

I sent you a pm but not sure if you have had a chance to check your messages. I'm happy top pay for postage but would like them by Thursday 14 if at all possible? I can make the payment online if you pm me your details.

I spoke to Glenn at Leicester and he said £108 (delivered) which is a little cheaper than my local opc.
