Coolant Question

Hi, quick coolant question. I've been running G48 for years with no issues. While the car has been off the road for the winter it developed a leak from the thermostat housing. Changing the o-ring sorted the issue. I needed to refill the missing coolant. All I could get at the time was a 'mix with everything coolant'. It took about 4L to refill. Now i'm wondering should I drain and refill with G48? What's the thoughts?
 
If it says "mix with everything" like most coolants are nowadays, you'll be fine. It's up to you if you would prefer uniformity.

I used to use red coolant, but I've had blue in since my engine rebuild. I'm sure they both mix together these days although I do recall years back about some conversations regarding blue/red for 944 engines. IIRC blue needs changed after 2 years, and 5 for red. But that info may be out of date, or incorrect!
 
I use the "oat" red antifreeze in both 924S's & the BMW 530D -get a 5l bottle from GSF for £14/15 & dilute it down to 50/50 in another one of those bottles that has a clip in angled spout-never any problems.
 
G48 is the correct one for our cars (the formula is by BASF), readily available Comma brand either ready mixed or concentrate from Amazon. I'd be worried that even though "mix with everything" could still have some sort of reaction gunking up your radiator or worse. It's also the same for my BMW X3 (2007) 2.0D which is handy :)

My 996 on the other hand uses G30.
