Convertable 911 on a Roll over jig

Good evening.
As a new member making first post excuse any hiccups I will make .
I am hoping to draw on from some member expertise in order to see thro a restoration of a 1987 supersport CONVERTABLE 911.
I have no prior experience of Porsche refurbishment but can wield a spanner reasonably well.
I have taken this car on as a retirement project so every evening I am learning something new and then being confounded by something else !
So in preparation of a good paint job at a local paintshop....Engine and box removed,front wings off,roof completly off ,windscreen out ,bumpers off, most interior gutted.
The car had been idle for many years and certain areas have suffered others are really good.

I plan to buy and use a roll over jig to attend to areas on the rear bulkhead on the underside of the car.
My question tonight is as a convertable with rusty sills and kidney bowls needed attention should I brace the car with steel box section in order to safely turn it upside down on this jig to avoid breaking its back ?
I do not envisage welding much at all when on the jig so its not so much a case of avoiding distortion.
They tell me the jig bolts on to the bumper damper mounts.

When I find out how to post photos I will put some up of progress if of interest.

Any thoughts, previous experience ?

Many thanks for that as it has steered me towards a scissor lift with some appropriate modifications.

Welcome to the forum and fair play for taking on such a big project. On a convertible, especially with rusty sills and kidney bowls, I would definitely recommend bracing the shell before putting it on a rollover jig. Even if you’re not doing much welding upside down, the lack of a fixed roof means the shell can flex when rotated. Simple box-section bracing across the door apertures and possibly diagonally will give you peace of mind. Many people do it as cheap insurance, especially when the jig mounts only to the bumper damper points. Sounds like a great retirement project — photos would be great when you’re able to post them.
 
I can donate a 360 deg. spit to the project, but it resides in North Devon! Sectionalised in 1.5 metre box steel.
